What is the last date mentioned in the WhatsApp Blog post? According to this post, the devices with Blackberry OS, BlackBerry 10, Windows 8.0 and older operating systems will not be able to use the app since December 31. Now there is less than a week left in this date.
Be reminded that Whatsapp boosted support for both platforms in June this year. At that time, Whatsapp had disclosed that after December 31, 2017, Whatsapp stop working on phones running Nokia S40 OS. Apart from this, for the Android version 2.3.7 or older, Whatsapp will stop working on February 1, 2020. Please note that support for messaging app was discontinued for Nokia phones running Symbian S 60 from June 30, 2017.
The date of support for BlackBerry and Windows Phone will no longer be extended and the device will stop app support from the given date. If you have any of these operating systems in your phone too, then you should think about upgrading to a new phone to run WhatsApp. Whatsapp updates for OS versions like Windows Phone 7, Android 2.1, Android 2.2 and iOS 6 were closed in 2016.
